Theresa, the stabilizer that I use most on my embroideries is Floriani's Heat & Sta Tear-Away that I buy from my dealer. That is what I used on the preemie gown. I use different types of stabilizers depending on the project. For this one of the denim pockets, I used a medium weight tear-away. It's about $30 a roll for 25yds. You won't find it at any Hancock or Jo-Ann's stores. It is different from garment interfacing which I don't buy locally either, I digress. I just hoop the stabilizer, spray some 505 spray on the denim, press by hand to the stabilizer, & stitch. Afterwards, I pull away the excess. I can usually get 2 design hoopings from one piece of stabilizer for my 4 x 4 hoop. The excess I save for my small hoop of 1-1/2 x 2 inch hoop. That's good for minature designs. Hope that this helps.
