Marty, I really like that pattern.. I think I may pick one up the next time McCalls are on sale.. I like the fact that it is not as long as most of them seem to be, and at 5 feet even, I do not need more length on a jacket. I like the versatility of that pattern. Anything Palmer Pletsch is always a winner, anyway..

Oct 5th is when McCall's patterns go on sale for 99 cents at Hancock Fabrics. I did not check the JoAnn's website. Of course, Hobby Lobby is closed today. I will pick this pattern up at that time. Kaitlin, I do have Vogue 2925 but haven't tried it out yet. I have fluffy upper arms so finding a sleeve that fits is tough. I usually have to make several adjustments which is why I like a 2 or 3 pc sleeve pattern. They are much easier to adjust.

I do like the look of McCall's 6655, Marty, particularly the plain shawl collared view without any folds or flounces. I like that the neckline is deeper, to show off more of the shirt underneath.

Kaitlin, when I saw the pattern, I thought view C would be perfect for what you need. Glad that you liked it. We don't really get cold weather in Memphis more than 2 or 3 days a year so that's why I like lightweight jackets. For the past 2 yrs, I haven't needed a coat to go outdoors even when it snowed a little bit. I have a nice thermal jacket rated to 40 below but I get warm in it. Most of the time, I wear a lightweight faux suede jacket with a pile lining. It's not very heavy at all. Hubby bought it from LL Bean for my Christmas gift 2 yrs ago.

On another tack I have made a jeans style jacket using "good" fabric eg taffetta.
Got lots of nice comments about that outfit - pity I grew

LIke that pattern Marty!Really like it. I may have to watch for it to come on sale here, a woman can never have enough jackets and something dressier would be nice rather than jean jacket styles all the time.
