I suppose everyone is freaking out a bit at this point. Making even the simplest of garments seems to be too much--extreme sleep deprivation seems to be catching up with them.

I finally realized where I recognized Christopher's signature textile from--I think someone has posted it here before, but I can't seem to find it now. I believe you would sew through several layers of flannel, then cut through all but the bottom layer for kind of a rag quilt.

I believe that technique is called Chennielle (sp). I have seen it called that on different sewing programs. There is even a notion for it. Like a cutter but the bottom blade is stationary and only the top cuts. To use , you slide the bottom blade over the very bottom layer in between that and the rest of the layers and cut. After washing the layers fluff up like a rag quilt.

Yes! Chenille is it exactly--thank you! I love how they are all worked up over it, like no one has ever done it before. It always looks a bit imprecise and raggedy to me when Christopher does it.
