Posting Pictures

New postby kaitlinnegan on Thu Aug 23, 2007 8:49 am

Hi all -- just wanted to let everyone know their options for posting pictures.

First, you can upload the pictures directly to the website here. When you create a new post, you can add a picture from your computer by clicking the tab at the bottom of the post you're writing that says "Upload Attachment", then click "browse" to find the file on your computer. Click "Add the file" to upload the file. Any pictures you upload this way will automatically be displayed at the bottom of your post. If you want to get a little fancier, you can click where in the post you want your picture to be display (say if you want it to appear in the middle of your post rather than at the end), then click on the "place inline" button below the filename of your picture.

Photos uploaded this way must be fairly small in size so people can view each post quickly, so you will need to resize using your photo editing software or at a website like http://www.shrinkpictures.com - a size of 640x480 pixels or smaller is a good place to start.

Second, you can post images from another photo sharing website, such as photobucket. All you need is a link to the photo, then put the url in Img tags to post the picture. You can link to pictures using the URL tags, too, if you don't want the picture to show up in the post but would rather have people click a link to view it.

Well, I hope this helps!

Thank you Kaitlin! I've added links to photobucket before, but couldn't figure out putting the picture directly into my post.

Update. I figured it out with your help! Thank you! I put pics of my fur kids (and fish) in the pet's thread. I'll try to get pics of the hand print blocks soon.
I'm creative. You can't expect me to be neat too.

I downloaded Picasa 3 which is a free program. You can adjust the pixels with this program too ;)
