Cheryl, I found my Babylock so easy to use & very sturdy. I've put over 800,000 stitches on it this past year & it works like a dream. The only problems that I have had is user error. I love it & am learning new things every day about it.

Well I figure I better update this thread.

Last month I purchased the Brother Quattro 2 6700D. Got a GREAT deal!!!! I just finished up the job I needed it for, and will say that I did a 2 week crash course in learning how to embroider with it & learning to use Embird. Talk about happy.. don't know what I was happier about -- the machine itself, or the fact I already had Embird and it works like a dream with it! I can't wait to play with all the designs I've been buying and squirreling away for the last several years!!!! HAHAHAHA!!!

Learned alot about stitching with leather and vinyl too.. using "Solvy" of different weights and backings.. good grief.. I got an education real fast .. but when I look at the manual on this thing.. I see I have got a LOOOONG way to go! ((Will I *really* use all those feet????))

Anyway... This must be the closest to heaven a girl can get! Thank you Lord!!! <3<3<3

Glad you are having a blast with your new toy!! They are fun to play with, that's for sure! I've always been a little scared to do vinyl or leather in case it decided to go bonkers on me. I like Embird, but I barely know how to use it, I can do certain things, and I am slowly getting the hang of digitizing, but you sure need a lot of time to get it all figured out. Got some pics to show us, come on Cheryl, brag a little!!!!

I got the Brother Quattro 2 6700 D... lovely machine and I have been having a ball! Thanks to all your great help over the years, I have the software and hardware I need to make the most of it!!

As for bragging... I have nothing to brag about.. just very blessed! And I didn't take a pic of the work I finished but I will next time.

Well Ladies.. I just got my machine back. In fact, Brother gave me a brand new machine, even though I had over a million stitches on the embroidery already. (Yes.. thats what I was told! :O) Turns out... when sewing in sew mode.. it was sewing backwards!! I had no clue because I had never used the regular stitches yet... but had taken it in because it had stopped cutting threads at thread jumps on my embroidery. My dealer called me and asked me if I had done any regular sewing and told him , nope.. hadn't gotten to it yet, why? And when he told me what it was doing I about died... but, Brother changed my machine out with a brand new one. How cool is that?? Hats off to Brother!!!

I've worked with a lot of Brother machines thru the years - 1972 thru 1990 - (had a friend who assembled machines at the Bartlett, TN plant) & she would bring machines home to test drive them even though she didn't know how to sew. I did her testing for her. I was never impressed with Brother products from this experience. All of the parts came from Japan & the machines were assembled here using Japanese instructions which were difficult to understand. Her division closed around 1987 & a few years later she died of brain cancer. We were close friends for over 20 yrs & I was godmother to her 3 daughters who are all grown with children of their own. I think one of them is even a grandmother now. I'm glad Cheryl that you have a good dealer who gave you great service. Enjoy your new machine. I also have Basic Embird & love my Ellisimo aka Ms. Ellie. I have so much fun with my machine & haven't used all of the 18 feet that came with it but have bought 5 more feet for it. What can I say, I'm a foot junkie for all of my sewing machines & sergers.

That's awesome Cheryl! I really like my two Brother machines, they aren't a bad machine for the price. And I love the .pes feature with the embroidery, just about everyone creates those and I don't have to change them out.
