Stupid Homespun!

Is it really such a bad fabric? Working with three bolts on these curtains it's important for them to be the same width since that's the width of the finished product. I've run into three different widths on the three bolts! It's causing me to spend an awful lot more time than I would have needed to otherwise.

Never worked with homespun before so I'm glad I'm finding this out now so I'll know in the future. In this case it doesn't matter since I'm not the one picking out the fabrics anyway. It just aggravating!

To me, homespun is too coarse to work with for smooth folds. It's a royal pain from the only time that I tried it.

I like using it for curtains, but I've never had to make more than 3 sets at a time. I always pre-wash and dry first so there are no surprises later.

Guess that's why it's 'home' spun. I've only used it once, in a plaid, and that was the very last time.

Laura, the last time you used it or the LAST ^*&(%&^$ time you'll use it??? It's got all types of imperfections which I know to expect but I still don't like. It's also totally off grain. This is a plaid and so noticeable. I'm trying my best.

Yep, big time. The plaid never seems to match, it's supposed to be on a grain, but when I tried to pull a grainline thread, it was still impossible to get it straight and it just ticked me off the more I tried to use it. I think it completely turned me off sewing with plaids at all.
