Looking at it from the bottom I was thinking it was pretty hairy looking but once we were inside the gondolas it was awesome and not scary at all. It was a little weird since you were moving both upwards rather quickly and also in the round (twice completely in 10 minutes). At the top there were giftshops, restaurants, an informational movie and then a trail that led to other trails and campgrounds. It was a perfect temperature up high and hot down below. It's a state park but the aerial tramway was built from private funding. The guy that built it in 1963 thought there should be some way for folks to get out of the desert heat in the summer. I remember going up there when I was a kid but not since till now. Bought my son-in-law a gift cert. for two for his birthday coming up so he and dd can go. They'll love it.
