Can anyone ID this block or quilt?

dd22 found this on Pinterest I think. She really likes it but would not do all the different colors. It doesn't look too hard but yet, how do you overlay the strips? If I could find out what it is, we could research it some more and maybe make one.

this looks amazingly similar to a quilt that we did at the Mystery Quilt retreat that I attended in February called Josephine's Knot by Calico Carriage Quilt Designs...Not quite but same principal http://www.calicocarriage.com is what is on the design...by the way, it was vey easy to do...

I am flabbergasted that I found this, it was the 2nd pattern I tried!!!

Just realized this is a paper piecing pattern, I wonder if we can find it in an easier method? I'm not a paper piecing fan.

ME too. I've been on that site and clicked here and there. Finally decided I would have to go thru all 59 pages to see if I could find it and just have not had time to do that.

It is a paper piecing pattern and I have no idea how to do that nor am I intereted in learning it just yet. I can't remember anything right now so I'm not trying anything new.

The other one is not paper pieced but you get the same result so I saved that one to my computer.

Instead of making the strips one fabric, I'm assuming you could make the strips by sewing two different colors down the center as along as you end up with the same width to actually cut/make the blocks?

Don't see why not, you'd just have to make sure you had your fabric all in the right direction, so that you don't have a dark color meeting up with a light unless that doesn't matter to her.

They bought new sheets/comforters last Summer and I thought they'd be ready for something else this year but they both like the hot pink, black, gray and white design. dd22 is in the process of painting their furniture and mirror (hot pink). We have to replace some paneling under the window (ac leaked last year) and re-paint their room this Summer (light gray), they want new carpet too but we'll see about that. I'm thinking maybe a wall hanging with coordinating colors to start with and see how it turns out?
