I've been lurking too but not posting as I'm not doing anything right now. I have lots on the "to-do" but the pain meds make me forgetful. I've resorted to a notebook to keep track of phone calls, errands that I can do all at once while in town so I don't have to make another trip, appointments and things for the kids to do when they are home.

I did go to the greenhouse down the road yesterday and bought two, yes two, flowers to plant in an old tree/stump that is at shoulder level. It has one large dead branch that my neighbor is going to cut off for us and one large branch still green. There is one area right in the middle about dinner plate size from previous branches being cut off so I cleaned it out, added a bit of potting soil from last year and planted two trailing flowers to trail down the tree. That's all I did besides quilting class.

I'm bored....

It was Spring break last week...so my time wasn't my own. (Like it ever really is!) I hope to do more this week.

Kathy, don't feel badly about being forgetful. I'm that way without any pain medications! I have post-it notes all over my house and office, as well as alarms set on my cell phone to keep track of various things.

Vickki, I occasionally get in that mode too. Try and figure out why you're feeling that way. Is it because you have a partially finished project you don't want to work on? If so, give yourself permission to do something else instead (and if it's truly a wadder -- chuck it!). Is it because it's been a while and you're feeling "rusty"? Both of those reasons have stalled me in the past. When that happens, looking at new patterns and planning something new usually motivates me. (Because it's a lot easier to "plan" a garment than to actually sew! )

Hey, I do that too. I've tried to get mom to do it also as she is nearly always forgetting something but she doesn't remember to even set the alarms! I love the "one day ahead" reminders. My old phone had up to three day reminders but my new phone only has a one day setup. May have to read the book and see if that's changeable or not.

I get a monthly email reminder on the 18th to give the dogs their hearworm pills so now I try to do other monthly things like checking the furnace filter in the Winter, check fire alert batteries, etc. Joe had to put in the window ac units the other day and said I'd have to check them daily thruout the Summer to make sure the water/condensation is dripping out and not between the walls b/c it's clogged up (did that last year, still need to do wall repairs). Post it note to the rescue!

The home inspection is at 3:30pm this afternoon & I'm struggling with what to do with all of my furniture. I have to rearrange the entire house for the wheelchair to go thru the doorways. So far, no help from anyone. I did get the ramp cleared except for some stumps. I have called some of my church members so am waiting to hear from them. Tomorrow, after the home inspection, I'm cutting out a skirt & jacket for me to make to wear for Easter. It's doable on the serger & the patterns are designed for using strictly the serger. Each is about 3 hours sewing time. Have fabric, pattern & notions so will post pics when done.

I been sewing shorts, pants, tops for Chloe. Even though DS's fiance' didn't want me to make my dress for the wedding, she wants sundresse's for the honeymoon in the Dominican Republic. She wants me to copy an old sundress she has. I also saw a cute one at the Dollar store so I bought it for her. Grr, I wanted to make myself a dress for church. Of course I volunteered to serge some puppets (58 +) together for our church mission trip.

I have Mia & Kayla here today. Started out by taking Sandy to school & stopping at the library. 2 books each ended up with 3 Ea. plus I had to pick 2. We got back & read 2 then decided it would be a good time to make cookies for the weekend parties.
First there was an argument about what kind to make first, I overruled & sugar cookies went first since they need to cool before frosting. That went pretty good with the girls taking turns cutting out butterflies & flowers. Then we started on carrot cookies. Again they took turns adding ingredients but when time to put them on the tray I had to walk away. They turned out OK but after the first tray they got tired so I got to finish. Then on to frosting (they get frosted warm). They tried juicing the orange but hands are too small. again they took turns whisking in the sugar Then watched me frost them.
I got them lunch & put them down for a nap while I washed cookie dishes so we could make 3 more kinds. an hour later I think they both are finally sleeping! I am going to try to get snickerdoodles, chocolate chip & Peanut butter mixed & baked while they are asleep & they can help frost the sugar cookies when they get up.
We have a BDay party at the zoo tomorrow afternoon & then everyone is coming here to color Easter eggs & have dinner, Saturday we have a party at my FIL's. & Sunday we will be at my Sister's. Egg hunts at both for the kids & I will be making deviled eggs for both & baked beans for my sister's along with the cookies.
I thought with a week off I would get a lot of sewing done  Didn't happen  Too much cleaning to do.
Better get back to the kitchen before my help wakes up!

What a busy day, Barb. Your house must always smell so good with all the baking and cooking you do. How you cook for so many people ALL THE TIME amazes me but I guess it's just the norm for you. If I have to cook for more than 6 I get really flustered.

Lennie when there isn't a crowd we usually eat leftovers for a week. Except last night I made salmon patties & had to hide one for DD before DH ate it.
I had plans to get so much done with a whole week off & I have done some of it I just don't feel like I have accomplished a lot. I did get my sewing room straightened, cleaned the kitchen, Scrubbed the bathtub & toilets, & got the laundry done, tonight I need to clean the dining room/play area so we can have room tomorrow to eat & do eggs.

I've been gone for our spring break. We went to a state park in Georgia, and stayed in a cottage. Georgia has great state parks, and their cottages (or cabins, if you prefer), are really nice. We even had a dishwasher! It was a small park, but very nice. We got home, and when I went to put our stuff away from the cooler, I found that someone had left the fridge door open! We had 4 things survive: ketchup, worchestire sauce, fajita shells, and a bit of fresh parsley that was in the crisper drawer. What a mess. We now have 5 bags of garbage to go to the dump in the morning! So now I have a sparkly clean, but empty fridge.
So no sewing for me, but I did work on 8 costumes for the kids chorus show. I will post pics sometime, hopefully this weekend.
