That is so very sad, but like Lennie said, he was so loved for the short time he was here. My heart goes out to this young mom.

It is a such a tragedy for the entire family. My heart & prayers go out to them & you, Lori, & your daughter. Losing one's child is one of the hardest things to happen in life.

I never got to because I haven't been able to shake this chest congestion completely and didn't want to chance passing on germs. His mom got to hold and love him at home for a month before he passed. I'm glad she got at least that much time with him.
On his FB page today they said to feel free to share his photo, so I thought y'all might like to see what this sweet baby looked like.

Thanks for posting the pictures... poor baby... now he is an angel in the hands of God!!!

This was the only funeral for a baby that I've ever attended. I hope it's the last. The mom was holding up pretty well until they let her have one last look at him just before the funeral. We could hear her sobbing behind the curtain. It was closed casket except for a private visitation for immediate family and I was glad for that. I don't think DD would have handled it well otherwise. Several of the mom's friends came and that seemed to help her get through it.

I've been to too many baby funerals ... 3 were my own children. My heart breaks for this mother & her family. Am glad that your daughter was able to be there to support her friend during this very sad occasion.

Luckily never have been to a baby's funeral. All the best to the mom and her family. Hope she goes on to a lovely life.

After making friends with their hospice nurse, she told DD she wants to go to nursing school. :)
DD is taking her out to lunch Thursday.
