Good for you Karen! You must feel fabulous!! That's a great accomplishment! Good luck with the altering. It may also work if you take things completely apart and recut them using a pattern piece, I'm thinking simpler things, like an unfitted blouse or pants. I have done that with some tshirt I picked up at a thrift store that were huge, cut them apart, recut them with my pattern pieces and sewed up a brand new shirt!

Karen, you have inspired me to try again to get the extra weight off. I am gaining since I am currently off work on sick leave and not walking the 20 or more miles a week that I walk at work.

Karen, you should be sooooo proud of yourself. That's wonderful. I'm very jealous. Lori and I seem to be in the same boat.

I'm impressed that you all are so diligent about taking in your clothes when they get too big -- I'd see that as a giant excuse to go shopping!

Congratulations on your weight loss though -- I'll bet it feels awesome to be wearing smaller sizes! :applause:

A few of my favorite skirts keep trying to fall off. I think I'll try putting some elastic in just the back and see if that helps.

Dorothy, Mine hang better if I just put short pieces of elastic inside the waistband at the side seams.. Keeps the front and back flatter in the middle which is better for my shape.
Also, Beth , sometimes it is alter (which I hate) or do without because of low funds.. I'm on a fixed income which got a lot smaller 2=or 3 years ago when the bottom fell out..

Exactly!!!! or I shop at Goodwill/Mission Mart/Salvation Army... just because I don't want to spend the money on clothes esp. if I keep losing weight.. although I think I have stalled on my wt loss now... no loss in 6 wks... oh well.. I still keep walking on my treadmill and eating correctly!!!

I hate the whole limited funds thing....it gets in the way of too many things!
