Well I guess I will be the first to post. I spent the weekend cleaning my sewing room. I still need to do a bit more before I can sit down to sew. I should have some yardage to post soon. My biggest obstacle right now is Cub Scout popcorn!!! Hubby piled it all in front of my cutting table!

a receiving blanket made using my new hemmer foot, so I figure it out before I use it on the cool dress that is all done except for the hems that's been a UFO for three years now (curse getting pregnant before it was done, okay not really, but it amuses me).

Well, I am starting off with a bang.. But, I had a Circle meeting last night and for this month we needed to bring baby items.. So, it just worked out fine with the contest.. I saved all the sewing till yesterday, so I made 6 receiving blankets and 15 baby washcloths. 6 blankets @ 1 yard each.. the 15 washcloths equal 2 yards of 60 inch fabric. the T-shirt is 1 1/4 yard of leftover fabric from my Mom's last halloween costume I made her 6 years ago.. Its the start of my halloween costume.. I have an applique on the front of it of a witch with a frog at her feet and she is saying " I am the treat"... Its old also.. The flannel for the blankets is 3 or 4 years old. The knits for the washcloths is 6-9 years old..(bits and pieces of different prints) I will probably end up in last place after this start, but that will be allright.. I have to get some of this stash out of the way.. I am having trouble walking in there.. LOL

I finally got my curtains made for me sewing room. Now I just am waiting for Ds to put up the rods. If he doesn't in the next few days I will this weelend.I bought the fabric in April when we were moving things around. It has been on & off my desk since then. I finally cut them out, serge hemmed the sides & bottom & made a rod pocket. They took me about 2 hrs. for 6 panels.

2.5 yards

New postby esrun3 on Tue Oct 02, 2007 8:49 pm

1 reversible top 1 yard and 1 reversible dress 1.5 yards = 2.5 yards. Feels good to accomplish something and get some of the stash moving out!

I finished my red shirt. The package says 2.5 yards but because of the way I cut it it took the whole 3 yards (Hey, I'm easy but not cheap  ).
It is a plain red linen that has been on my shelf for more than two years.
Kind of a "big shirt" style with long sleeves and no cuffs
I perked it up a little with a little flapper button at the top and used plain red buttons for the rest of it. I have been using Nancy Zieman's method for collars. Boy, do they look good that way.
There's a kicker here though, Gina.
I started it before Oct. 1.
I decided to list it because I'm not going to be one of the top contenders so if I'm cheating it won't matter.
I'll let you decide. I think you should keep it in so I don't look so pitiful in the end.
