you have more area to cover than we do with a lot less stores. all total its about 2 hours from here to the last store but all the side stops we have to make a full day. plus we plan to eat at the red lobster which is a treat for us as the last place we go is the closes one to us and i'm about 30 min. from canada.good luck on sat.

I think I am crazy but... I am going yo try to make myself a top to wear to DD's Graduation open house on Sat. & make my Sister a casserole carrier before then also. I think I have most of Tomorrow & Thursday to myself & I am cooking the meat for sandwiches on Thursday so I can't leave home for very long at a time & have some baking & shopping left to do.
I am going to find one of my simple tried & true patterns.
Wish me luck! If I get through Sat. I am going to have to sleep on Sunday to get ready to start babysitting on Monday.

Quick update - my linen pants are finished! I definitely recommend the pattern, Dorothy D. It has several nice features that I'll detail when I take some pictures tomorrow. The nice thing is that you can take or leave particular details. For example, I kept the front patch pockets, but left off the side leg pockets.

The skirt from the same fabric and pattern is cut out, and I hope to get a start on it tomorrow.

I've not done much sewing this spring. Have been busy trying to get two garden beds prepped and planted. Lot of work there but worth it in the end. Have already picked squash from plants I started from seeds. Now back to sewing.
I did complete the tops for the grandkids and even completed a dress for the oldest grand. Made a blouse for me that I am unhappy with so haven't put the buttons on it yet. I think it was the wrong fabric for the pattern. Too drapey vs style. I did complete all the outfits for the grands for their b'days and they were so excited about them. Have decided to tackle some pants and I want them to fit me. So far I have made 2 muslins, 2 because I couldn't do any more tweaking on the first one. The second fit worse than the first did. Have tracked down "Pants for Real People" in our library system. Because it will take 3-4 days to get it to the branch I use I'm going to wait until after our visit with the grands since I won't be doing any major sewing while they are here. Will probably be asking for help as I go along. I'm so frustrated trying to get a basic slack pattern to fit.

Well, I finally have time to update here. I never thought I would say it, but I think I am almost sick of seeing my sewing room.

I set myself a goal of 50 yards by the end of May, and I killed it, but haven't had time to post yardages. Once I had hit the target, I set myself another 50 yards by the end of August, but I am just about there already.

24 yards - polar fleece hooded cloaks. I got this material on the mega-cheap, and made the camp blankets for our scout group as a fundraiser.
6 yards - pink & green butterfly quilt
6 yards - swirly quilt for godson
8 yards - quilt for school trivia night. We actually sold it for $110 so I was so happy.

I now have 4 other quilts on the go. 2 for the twins, a wedding ring quilt, and a hand sewn hexagon quilt for myself. I also have to find a pattern for a quilt for a 12 yo boy, which I guess will just jump out at me when I see it. I have also picked out the colours to make a dresden plate quilt for my spare bedroom. I am sick of making all of these quilts, but have very few of them in my house. I want something nice just for me!
I am having a ball, and can thank all of you for the little added incentive to keep sewing instead of just sitting back admiring the beautiful fabric I have in my stash!

Sewinggrandma, I can relate to the gardening. For various reasons I have not gardened in 4 years but this year I have been determined to have a garden and flowers. I have just this week picked my first yellow squash and if the tomatoes I planted late live up to expectations I will have a bumper crop as well as a bumper crop of cantalope and green beans. I love my gardening just about as much as sewing and I am certainly more successful at it. I'll get back to sewing when I recover from the eye surgery. I have the second eye done on July 23. I looked at my fabric yeaterday and wished I had not taken a break from sewing the last 3 weeks. I miss sewing but I can't do everything.
