This is my second time around as president. I was the president back in 2002 & 2003 when we gained our charter. I've worked in several other positions since then and took a total break (no pun intended) last year. I do love being in touch with lots of folks and it's not hard to conduct a meeting. I'm starting a new neighborhood group this weekend and will be teaching advanced techniques once a month. Now, that is a real challenge.

Advanced techniques, hmmm. Sounds great, to be able to look over someone's shoulder and learn.

They let my FIL home yesterday having finally given him his angiogram. I think they starved him in prep for it twice and cancelled both times - not sensible for a man with diabetes - then they wondered why his blood sugar was all over the place... They will want him back some time for some work ona valve I think. He is 80 in March and wants to hold out till he makes the big family party - we are going down to see them again in February.

Jan, hope and pray that all goes well with your FIL.
Advanced techniques are just doing different things. The lesson this month was using specialty needles and fabrics. I sewed with a twin, a sharp, a wing and a leather needle on some cotton sateen, satin, silk and leather scraps. I was surprised at how many people have never tried these things. We had 9 people show in spite of having freezing rain and a harsh wind. Our chapter's theme this year (2008) is "Beyond the Basics".

Jan So sorry to hear about FIL. I hope he fairs well on his next trip to the hospital. Been there done that so I know what you are going through. Cherish the time you have with him, I thank God I did with my Mom. I have no regrets because I did. Keep us up to date with his condition. ((Hugs))
