halloween costumes 2016

Halloween 2016;
granddaughters were a pirate...Ursula from the lil mermaid and Cheshire cat from alice in wonderland .
For pirates outfit-- cut different fabrics in strips. including trim with coins and strands of pearl trim.. sewed on a waistband.
for Ursula outfit-- used the skirt pattern from McCall m4709 (2004).. i used a sheer glittery purple to give a fishy look.. i made the pattern for the
octopus tentacles and used a light purple velvet fabric that had tiny purple dots on the fabric...the top of tentacles is black fabric i had.. i attached the skirt
to a black tank top and glued purple buttons in different sizes for the suction things . i had also made a sheer blouse out of the glittery fabric but
i dont think she wore due to weather
Cheschire cat--- i bought a purple top and pants from walmart--a size bigger than what she wore-- i cut open the pants and top for easier sewing..
i cut strips of pink fur material --sewed on top and pants and sewed back together...ears and tail were store bought
