Mending projects this weekend with some machine embroidery. Repaired some pants for my daughter and hemmed 2 pairs of pajama pants for hubby. Embroidering some napkins as a gift for a friend. Getting demonstration sewing projects ready for the Delta Fair & Music Festival next weekend.

Still working on baby items here. I sew in spurts, going several weeks between sewing sessions then I sew for several days at a time stopping only when I've completed the stacks of items I have cut out previously.

Watched a video of Fons and Porter the other day and it had lots of laughter and fun. It was the 2018 Reunion for PBS and can be found on the web. They had a lot of out takes from their show, and even got around to showing some quilting.

I really need to stop buying fabric for a while, I have no room to store it currently. Walmart is clearing out their licensed baby and child flannel/fleece prints for around $2/yd. and today Joann's had their solid Cozy flannel on sale for $1.99. I needed solid colors to back the bibs and burps I make from the prints.

LOL I am on a fabric diet - well I am trying.
I have made all my blocks for the quilt using African Silhouette kits. Need more black which I haven't been able to match. Luckily my local quilt shop offered to order some black batik fabric from the company that produces the kits just have to wait several weeks. So started a baby quilt yesterday because I needed to quilt. Just the border to quilt today then bind it. That will get done in the weekend as I have to travel to Australia for work tomorrow.
Want to make some Jalie Cora tights for my DD and DIL for Xmas just got to find a source for supplex wicking fabric locally. See already anticipating falling off the diet

I have not bought any fabric since Oct 2017 when I bought some for a specific project. For now, I'm using what I already have which is plenty. This weekend, I did sewing demonstrations at the Delta Fair & Music Festival. I had an old thin curtain that was very soft so I cut it into 9 inch squares. Then with a medium weight tear-away stabilizer, I embroidered a design on the squares. After that, I serged the edges and added lace for pretty hankie. I did about 10 of them and gave them to the other ladies in my booth plus a friend. They loved them. I also embroidered 3 burp cloths for a friend to give as a baby gift. While at the Fair, Bob Donan of Tina's Attic had hand carved bamboo knitting needles and crochet hooks. So, I bought a set of knitting needles in size 11 and a size K crochet hook. That was much better than junk food or "fair food". I am teaching myself to crochet.

Marty, hope you enjoy crocheting. My oldest GD taught herself to knit using nothing but tutorials on the computer and she has made some beautiful items since. I just finished crocheting a cute little hat for a baby that is very simple http://www.danyelpinkdesigns.com/2013/1 ... y-hat.html

I spent a day cleaning my sewing room, refolding fabric, rearranging, finding room for the new flannel that has come in. I found a box of baby items that I cut out over a year ago and never stitched up. I made up my mind that I would sew these items before I cut anything else out so the last 2 days I've been making baby T-shirts and leggings (5 each so far) all that is left 2 buntings and a button up shirt.

I have officially declared that no more fabric or yarn will come into the house until I run out of what I need, i.e. lining for tote bags, backing for burps and bibs.
