Hope everyone in his path weathered the storm safely. We've never seen so much water as we've had here. Between the 15 inches of rain Hermine dumped on us 2 weeks ago and the 10+ inches Matthew dumped we don't need any more this year. The river is higher than anyone has seen before, over the bank in many areas. Many homes in our neighborhood were flooded and we were stranded for a couple of days because of roads flooding- roads that have never flooded before. Our house remained dry-the roof didn't even leak!
We were without power for a couple of days but we do have a generator that can run the electric and our water pump (we have our own well) so that was pretty much all we needed. Luckily the temps outside remained mild so we didn't need our A/C. Hot water would have been nice but I won't complain as others weren't as fortunate. Now comes the work of clean up. Our yard is covered in tree debris and it will take us several long days of hauling branches and limbs to our burn pile.
