Strippy Diamaond quilt finished

New postby Skye on Sun Aug 30, 2015 6:10 pm

FInally got around to taking a photo of the quilt I made from the left over scraps from my Flying geese quilthttps://www.flickr.com/photos/sewingskye/21025560351/in/dateposted-public/

The pattern I used was from Fons & Porter Magazine Quilting Quickly Summer 2014.
It was a fun project.

Skye, I love the quilts you make. I can't imagine having the skill and expertise to make something like that.
Thanks for posting.

Thank you Belinda.
If you can sew a straight line you can piece a quilt top.

Your quilt is beautiful. So wish I could quilt without my blood pressure soaring or my level of frustration skyrocketing.
I'm with Belinda as far as making quilts, I just can't do them though I would love to. There is more than just sewing a straight line to make a quilt IMHO. I have problems with color selection, cutting, layout, sandwiching and quilting. I think the sewing a straight line is the only thing I can do and not get frustrated. :brick:

I just flat do not have the patience required to be a quilter. I admire anyone who makes quilts. Those are breathtaking. I so envy you.

Skye, your quilt is beautiful. I tried to make some quilted table runners and I used running stitches when quilting. Before that I tried to make a log cabin quilt block but was told that my cutting and seams were off. I didn't know how to quilt so I couldn't do a quilt block. LOL!!! The quilt police are surely after me. I'll stick to garments and smocking. Maybe, one day I can learn to quilt.
