Welcome, I love sewing and have been doing some of it for more than 65 years now. I am 80 this year. I love the things that I can create and give someone as a gift. That is the majority of what I do nowadays. I used to sew my own clothes a lot because I am vey short and therefore hard to fit. Todays fashions have so many items for petites that I buy a lot of readymades now, and save my sewing for things that help others. That is my main aim in life right now, to do something to help the needy. I have been blessed with a good long life and I want to share whatever I can with others. I talked with a VP of the USO this AM and she sounded really excited about the fact that I have 20 baby bibs to deliver to their Hospitality suite at the airport they maintain for military families who are traveling. I buy the decorated fingertip towels and put a 't-shirt neckline in them and there is a wonderful baby bib. (pulls over the head, does not have to be tied on) Since my grandson was born in 1992 I have made over 650 of them. Sold a few before I retired, but now they are given as gifts or donated to USO or The Salvation Army Christmas Bureau. I also make Christmas Stockings that my church members stuff for shipment to military troops serving abroad . (Afghanistan for the last 4 years) This year we sent 60 stockings.
