Industrial Machine Lubricant

New postby sdk289 on Sun Nov 23, 2014 3:47 pm

Hello,

I recently acquired a Singer 400W1 and a 400W107, both of which have an oil reservoir for constant lubrication. The manual says to use 'Singer Light Grade Manufacturing Machine Oil' in the reservoir. I suspect that the name has changed by now. Where can I buy this oil and what are some equivalents?

OK Marty, This is a Question fo the woman that I mentioned yesterday that I could not remember he name or for the woman that has her own bridal sewing business. I know she has an industrial machine and the other lady refurbishes vintage machines. Either woman should know the answer to Sheryl's question but I cant remember either lady's name ?? can you?

No, I'm bad on names but I can answer Sheryl's question ... clear sewing machine oil can be purchased at any sewing machine dealer or big box fabric store like Hancock Fabrics or JoAnn's Fabrics and Crafts. DO NOT USE "3 in 1" oil as it will gum up the works over a period of time. Hope this helps.

Ok, so just regular sewing machine oil then? Great!

Thank you!
