changing needle position on Scandinavia 100 Viking

New postby In the groove on Wed Oct 29, 2014 11:49 am

I just purchased a friends used machine. I cannot figure out how to move the needle to either the right or left of center for using zipper foot. This is a Husqvarna Scandinavia 100, it does not have a computer.

I've had only Viking sewing machines and have loved all of them and I'm sure once you get comfortable with your machine you'll love it too. They are workhorses. Do you have an owners manual? Check out the Viking website and it can lead you where you need to be to get one. Is there a dealer nearby that you can take lessons from on your machine. Since you bought your machine used you'll probably have to pay for them but they will be worth it so that you can get the most out of your machine.
Come back and let us know how you did. Others might have more info as to how to change the needle position.

On my machines, I have to change the width to get the needle to move. Some machines do not have an adjustable needle bar. You can download a copy of the manual at this site ... http://www.manualslib.com/manual/639709 ... e=5#manual. Hope this helps.

On my machine Janome Memory Craft 4000 , you have to use the stitch width control to move the needle position. I do not know about any other brand, since my Singer 221 in only straight stitch ..
