Abby is home and doing beautifully. We saw her on Friday and she took 3 ounces in her bottle with out a battle or tears or struggles. Before her surgery feeding her was an ordeal because if she didn't drink it down in the first 3-4 minutes she wasn't going to take anymore and she'd struggle and cry if we tried to get her to drink more. A good feeding back then was between 1 and 1.5 ounces five times a day if they were lucky. DD is hoping that if she continues to take that amount the doctor will discontinue the supplement so that she can resume breastfeeding. She has been pumping ever since the doc put Abby on a supplement.

Brockie, check out Children's Corner for some cute outfits for little Miss Abby. Also, Ginger Snap, Wendy Schoen, Heirlooms Originals, and Creations by Michie' for some great children's clothing. I buy from almost all of them.

Love hearing the good news. Not as much as you giving it, I'm sure.

Marty, what kinds of patterns are offered on those sites? I don't do heirloom but basic cute patterns are welcome for my 1 and 3 year old granddaughters. I have dial-up so loading some sites can ba a pain.

These patterns are for cute children's clothing that are classic styles. You can use heirloom techniques ... lace shaping, puffing, ruffles, French seams, etc. or just sew them on a serger and sewing machine. I have a young niece, great nephew, and cousins with young grandchildren plus there are lots of children in need of well made clothing. I just like sewing these things. Sewing for others makes me super happy and challenges my sewing skills.

Abby is doing great. Gaining weight and reaching her growth milestones. She is 3 1/2 weeks post surgery and her surgeon is pleased with her progress and found no further issues with her heart. She'll have to take antibiotics for any dental procedures but that will be years down the road for her-though she is drooling enough to be cutting teeth now! The chest incision has healed completing and will look smaller as she get bigger. She doesn't act like she has any residual pain and is trying to turn over all the time onto her tummy. She is a happy baby smiling and laughing and doing her baby talk constantly. This is our first grandbaby that we have been able to see on a regular basis (we are actually babysitting her while her Mom and Dad work) and are having a great time. Never thought I'd have baby furniture in the house at my age :o .
