This year's Hallowe'en costume

New postby dmoses on Thu Oct 31, 2013 6:25 pm

I can't believe my granddaughter is 4 already! :) This is my daughter and granddaughter. Granddaughter wanted to be scary, and her mom wanted her to be cute. This is really the only sewing I have done in a long time, with the exception of little things here and there.

The creepy crawlies are supposed to be the scary part. Lol.

Thanks, Marty. :) I visit from time to time, but have been busy and don't have a lot of time for my hobbies. I hope to get back into to it soon... We shall see. I miss this group as well. :(

Thank you, ladies! :) I used Simplicity 3680, but changed a few things. There should have been another underskirt, which I felt wasn't needed(I was in a hurry... ;) ) and the casings for the sleeves and neckline were supposed to be inside. I had some silver ribbon, so I used that on the outside...trim and casing all in one. Lol. The sheer overlay has silvery reflective bats all over it, which picks up light and colours around so it looks very pretty. All supplies, except for the creepy crawlies, were from stash...fabric I picked up on sale or in remnants, without a definite plan on how to use...my 'emergency, might come in handy' fabric. It wasn't sewn with 'finesse', but I was happy with the outcome. It was fun project for me. :D
Take care,
Donna

The child is adorable and the costume is great. It's so good to hear from you. Donna, my sewing is on hold also. DGD decided she could make do with the costume I made for her last year.
