Knit ruffled scarves

New postby LeapFrog Libby on Tue Nov 27, 2012 2:09 pm

I am in the process of knitting more of the ruffled scarves. I have finished 4 already that will be Christmas Gifts. Since I got the hang of it, I can move right along with them. Oh, yes, and as long as I stay away from the red heart yarn "Sashay". I just cannot like that one. All the rest that I have tried are great.. Chrysalis, Starbella, Winter Wonderland, and Sundance are the brands that I have used and that I like. The Sashay loops are smaller and you have to use every other one instead of every one in all the other brands to make the stitches. I have 3 or 4 more in the planning stages with the yarn ready to go. When I finish each one I put it in a ziplock bag with a name attached, so I don't lose track and get another gift for same person. LOL.. Been there, done that ! !

Those were the new item at most of the craft booths this year. They were selling them for anywhere from $10-$20. or at least that is what people were asking for them

Jan here is the link. The Starbella label has the instructions on the inside of every label, also..
When the screen comes up look to the right side to download the instr. on Acrobat..

You could probably make one in a couple of hours. I am slow so it takes me 2 evenings of TV watching to make one.Shorter version, ..

They sure are popular this year! A number of women at work are knitting them now.

I found a new variation of colors in the Starbella line. Called Wild Hydrangeas and it is a combination of purple, aqua, and white and a hint of green. I made myself one from that and wore it yesterday with a jacket with the same coloring and I cannot tell you how many comments I got on that.. Even from a lot of men who almost never comment on clothing items.. Had to go get a gallon of milk after church and the checker in the HT store raved over my beautiful scarf...Everybody loves that scarf. I am glad I bought 2 skeins of that color combination. Something tells me its gonna be very popular..
