Girls Blouse Pattern With Princess Seams? Is there any?

New postby temom on Fri Nov 23, 2012 12:25 pm

My dd, who is a tiny little thing, would like a blouse with princess seams. Does anyone have any ideas? Her usual kids pattern size is kids 10.
Her measurements are 26-25-31. I can't find a thing. She has one blouse with princess seams, and if I can't find one, I might try copying it, but really, I don't have much blouse making experiences to draw from!

Do you have a plain blouse pattern that fites her?

If so you could try slicing the pattern where you want the seams add seam allowances.

Take a look at Sure fit designs for kids (NAVY) http://www.surefitdesigns.com/Children-s-Kit.html

I use Surefit to get a good fitting basic dress and used the booklet to add princess seams to dress patterns both shoulder and armhole seams.
Glenda of Surefit is great at answering questions too. This system works for me :D

I don't know if you can make adjustments to this pattern. It has the seams, but looks a little loose fitting.

Donna, I looked at the line drawings and this McCall's pattern #6389 does have princess seams from the armhole. I always check line drawings for details.

Skye, that looks like a very cool program, I think I will get it. I have never heard of it before - thanks!
Donna, how did you find that? I have been looking for a long time, and have never seen it! McCalls go on sale next week, so I will get it then!
THANK YOU SKYE AND DONNA!

You're welcome, Theresa. I also saw this one, which I used myself many years ago for my daughter. It was really cute when finished...one of the few projects that I actually felt happy about. ;)

This is more 'top', than 'blouse', with buttons in the back.

Thanks Marty. I am usually in such a hurry, that I don't always scroll down the pages...a person can miss a lot that way! :anxious:

That is cute, but the dress code requires collars and sleeves. Thanks anyway.
