You are not only a productive sewer but you are also a very skilled one. The dress is so pretty and your fix is actually better looking than before the fix. How about putting some of the bling on the band also.

Dorothy that purse is a "keeper". How long would it say it took you to make it including the chrocheting

That's a tough one. The crocheting didn't take long really. Maybe a couple weeks in front of the TV. It wasn't hockey season so I listen to the television and look at my needle work. During hockey I mostly watch the game and stitch between periods.
The sewing wouldn't have taken very long either if I'd been able to get to it but I have been kind of busy with real life lately. You could probably do it in an afternoon. But I wouldn't have been able to do it at all if I didn't have the toughest and most cooperative machine in the world.

Ticia, you and the kids look great.

Laura, great fix on the dress. Where did you get the little loops to attach the straps to on the bag?

5 yards

Postby momquilts on Mon Nov 09, 2009 6:52 am

Each cloth book panel is one yard. DD and I made them last night while watching the local pro football team lose on Sunday night football. I sewed, she trimmed and turned, I stitched the edges closed and turned them into books. Five books done in about 2.5 hours. Things go so much faster when you have someone to help/talk to.

Will have to attach picture later. Says file is too big. Will have to put it on Photobucket and try again.

Hope that works!

Love all the pictures being shown! Everyone does a great job!

I finally got the nightgown and matching pillowcase uploaded I made for my dgd. The yellow band on the pillow case came from my mom's stash and is probably 20yrs old -actually I think the pink came from there too but not sure about that one and if it's from mine, there's no telling how long I've had it.

Started an album in photobucket for the challenge:

Laura, the dress turned out (so far) just wonderful. I like it even better than before. Glad it worked out for you.

Everyone's doing so well. I'm feeling a bit like I want to sew again and will try my best to finish a shirt for dh today. Keep your fingers crossed for me. :D

As for me, I finished up my top and just need to tie off some thread ends and model it for you guys. ;)

1.25 yds.

I finished a top for me! It is a simplicity OOP pattern 4424. I will try to take a picture of the pattern next time the camera is out. The shirt is supposed to have big ruffles at the bottom of the sleeve but I wanted 3/4 length sleeve for work & ruffles don't work with prepping food.

I am still waitng for dowels from DH for the casserole carriers.
I have 2 more shirts cut out to sew, 1 for DD & 1 for my niece

Hey guys - I am tallying up the yardage and realizing that I need the garment yardage listed separately, since I will be adding that up separately. So, if you make a post with both garment yardage and other yardage, you can either list it in the subject as:

Garment: X yards, Other: Y yards
(X and Y being the individual yardage for each item or set of items)

Or you can make two separate posts.
