Reading the manual

This week I pulled out my sewing machine manual and started to re=read it. I was really surprised at all the different things that I had forgotten it did, or how to do different things. Thought I'd mention it, as some of you may want to try it and see what you can find new about your machine!

Laura, I keep my manual next to my machine & refer to it often as I don't always remember everything about it. I also have a book called the Complete Reference guide & the Workbooks for my machine. They are always within easy reach. My self made obstacle is allowing clutter to pile up around my machines on the sewing table where I don't have space to work.

I have started keeping my sewing manuals under neath my sewing machines. They don't seem to get pushed aside to different places anymore.

Mine are always within reach of whatever machine I am using at the moment.. I use them almost daily.. I have to use the manual for my MC 4000 a lot because it does so many things.. And , of course when I am making a good garment, I have to open it to the blind hem page, because if I don't , the fold gets done in the wrong place and I have learned the hard way not to think I remember perfectly how to start.. I always consult the manual when I change feet on my machine, except for the standard and the zipper foot and the 1/4 inch foot.. Those I know pretty well..

i am lucky in that my machine has the info at my finger tips in that i can find it right on the screen at the touch of a button, so i can still avoid the manual
