OMG Judy! Just when I thought I'd be good and start getting back to normal eating, you posted that!!!!! It looks very very good, I can almost taste it from here, and I'm just waiting for the printer to finish printing the recipe. I think I will make it for DH's birthday in Jan, he'll like that.

Laura, if he likes peanut butter cups...then he'll definitely love this. But be warned...it has magical properties!!! It "barks" out....Eat me! Eat me!...and dang you just have to do it... :twisted:

I don't think a tea bag, per se, would work for that reason. Just make something flat and mostly the size of the "rug" itself.

Well, I've been making more mug rugs or snack mats...whatever you want to call them...LOL

These are larger (9.5' x 7.5") than the ones I made with paper pieced trees...found the tutorial here

Backing fabric - giving them to some wine lovers

And these are still works in progress....need to topstitch around each and then quilt them. But will be doing that tomorrow pm as I'm planning to give them at lunch on Wed. I made these 7.5 "x 6"

This time I used the wine faric as they are all wine lovers too.

I make my Mug Rugs from the circles I cut from fingertip towels to make baby bibs. Sometimes I just serge 2 together and sometimes I serge a lot of tiny scraps together and then serge a piece of that to one of the terry circles. People buy them at our craft sale every fall. And they are made from what most people would consider trash to throw away..

All are lovely. Nice gift idea. I saw some in a store that had a cinnamon scent to them that was supposed to get stronger when a hot cup of coffee was placed on them.
