For once my procrastinating paid off.

After my house sold earlier this year I had decided that it was time to jump right in and open my own fabric store. I had spoken to family and friends who were willing to invest in my down payment, so I started getting serious about writing my business plan. During that process I began to realize exactly how much money this was going to cost and how important it is to find the perfect location (I think this is the main reason it is very important to have a business plan). So I decided to slow down a bit and get our personal finances in a little better shape and wait for the perfect location to come available (in other words I found excuses to procrastinate). I am SOOOOOOO GLAD that I made those excuses! Not too much later the Corp of Engineers decided to flood my part of the Missouri River. These are pictures of the flooding and the damage to roads, I-29 is pretty much destroyed in places and Hwy 2 which leads directly into my town is still under water. If I had opened shop this spring I would probably be out of business by now. So for now I am going to have a wait and see attitude. I still have my job at McDonald's and that keeps me out of trouble and supplied with fabric and craft items. On a side note I am high and dry on the bluff in Nebraska, so you don't need to worry about me in that respect.

See, things happen for a reason. I think you'll know when it's the right time. That's when things will just fall right into place. Good luck and I'm glad your really nice house and you all are doing fine.

Gina, am so glad that you didn't invest right away in a fabric store. There is a plan from God & when the time is right, all will go smoothly. Am glad that your home is high & dry & that your family is safe.

I'm glad everything worked out for you. Sometime procrastinating works in your favor. Personally I have procrastination down to a science (or art).
