Kids say the darndest things

New postby pinecone on Tue Dec 30, 2014 9:27 pm

Last evening I went shopping with my daughter and she told me a funny about my 3 year old granddaughter. DGD was at my other daughter's playing with a toy school bus and had loaded it up with lots of dolls. My daughter asked her if she was taking them to school and she replied "No, we have to wait for the driver to finish texting"! I have been grinning over that all day. The husband of one of my friends drives bus so I had to give him a call and he thought that was a hoot.

I remember watching the Art Linkletter show "Kids say the darndest things" way back when and used to laugh thru the whole show.

The funniest line I ever heard from a child, I heard there, Brockie. Art asked the kid who he loved the best Mom or Dad. This was a 5 year old African American kid. He said I love my Mom AND my Dad the most. Art said You're a little Diplomat, aren't you/ Boy replied, "No, I'm a good little Baptist Boy ! ! "I laughed for days over that, and it was more than 50 years ago. Chris was very young at the time and he just turned 54, and I was a fairly new stay at home mom at the time.

I too remember Art Linkletter. His show was a hoot. Love your story, Libby.
