Last night it stayed above freezing and we had some rain in the middle of the night. Some snow melt occured then. Today my driveway has totally melted, but is still wet. tonight its going down to 26, so I will be waiting till past 10:30 am to leave for church, so I won't have too many problems. Its supposed to be a lot warmer tomorrow. I got 3 newspapers today. plus mail (junk). DS went out shopping a while and got a replacement on our shovel with the broken handle. Free, because it was a lifetime guarantee from Home Depot.. Thank goodness one of the men had been there long enough to remember that style. (service clerk was hesitant about it, at first) I might do a little shopping tomorrow afternoon. DSW has a fantastic clearance sale going on..

Heard that Waechter's Fine Fabrics in Ashville, NC is closing its doors. Everything is 25% off. The owner is retiring and no one wants to buy the store or manage it. So sad.

We are getting another round of winter weather tomorrow. Had 3-5 inches of snow last Friday and about 3 inches last night and they are calling for 3-5 inches tomorrow with freezing rain also. I'd rather just have snow and not freezing rain.

I hope you can stay home, sewhappy. We went up to Dad's house to shovel from the 2 previous storms. The man that is plowing the yard for us also had the roofs shoveled off!! The house, the garage and the Morton building as well. what a wonderful surprize. I was going to ask him for recommendations for that area as it is about an hour from us and I don't know the people that shovel there. Tuesday into Wednesday is our next round. *sigh*

It's snowing here again right now. I can't stand it any more! At least today we only have a delayed opening and are NOT closed. So far we have 5 days to make up. Some schools who have missed more days are considering Saturday classes. I certainly hope we don't get to that point! :o

My kids have flown the nest so I have no clue how many days school kids have missed. Today was an early release.

Please don't hate me but the snow that has paralyzed most of the nation skipped Memphis. We got one small dusting that wasn't even a half an inch and melted within 2 hours. We had 2 days in which we had some ice but even then, it wasn't bad. The schools didn't close. The only day that they closed the schools was because the temps were 9 degrees or below. I don't have any children in the local schools so it doesn't effect me at all. In DC, where my daughter is, they are having lots of snow but she doesn't mind. Today, in Memphis, it was bright and sunny with high temps in the 60's. My favorite kind of weather. I think that it is supposed to rain tomorrow but by the end of the week, it's supposed to be in the 70's. I've just been sewing every day this week trying to finish some projects.

Rained this morning but the sun is out now and nearly 70 out. Wind is blowing a gale though so I won't be out in it as it really causes me problems especially with all the moisture and new pollen popping out.
Libby, did you finish your James Patterson book? He's one of my favorites. Which one did you read? I've read all of the Alex Delaware series so far and his Private series and the Women's murder club plus most of his stand alone books. Thank goodness many of them are available as audio books as I wouldn't be getting much sewing done.

Thankfully there have been no major issues with the weather from those who posted. We are now in flood mode in S. Ontario. We have 10 ft snowbanks but we are warming up to + 6 by tomorrow. Add 40 ml of rain to the picture ;( A very good weekend to be home and quilting/reading/ watching the Olympics. For those of us in snow country, think spring, Easter bunnies and gardening catalogues ;) Take good care.
