This is definitely the cabinet for the Singer Athena 2000. My mother bought one brand new in 1976, and the machine and cabinet were purchased together. When she passed away last April, I found the manuals, original paperwork and brochures with the machine (I kept the machine and cabinet). It's a great cabinet - Singer designed it specially for the Athena 2000, which was their top of the line machine in 1976 and their first electronic model. Right now I'm trying to figure out how to re-mount the machine onto the top. The machine is as good as new and after having it cleaned, I'm ready to use it if I can just figure out the mounting.... I'm sure other machines will mount on it as well. The beauty of this cabinet was the ability to store all of your basic supplies in it and close it up. Once it's closed and the machine is dropped down into the cabinet, it looks like a sideboard. Pretty nifty idea! Enjoy! - Cathy
