Kathy is Alive & Well

New postby MartySews2 on Wed Apr 17, 2013 10:50 am

Kathy called me this morning as she needed some help with a prom dress. She is doing as well as she can. The divorce will not take place until sometime this fall because of insurance issues. Her step-daughter, Heather, got married in January and is expecting her first child in September. Therefore, Kathy is excited to become a grandma. Work is going well and life is good right now. She's very tired most of the time and is still battling depression. However, she has set up the garage with a cutting table and is getting back into sewing. She just doesn't have the time to get on the internet very much. It was so good to hear from her. Please keep her in your prayers.

Thanks for the update. Being a grandma is wonderful and hopefully will add a bright spot in her life. Depression is a mean thing to battle and my prayers are with her. Just a little fabric therapy can be good. Let her know I say Hi.

Belinda, how are you doing? You've been very, very quiet lately ... how is Ronnie doing? Hopefully, life has settled down for you. If you don't want to post a lot, just PM me. I have been so busy sewing that I am going in circles trying to get all of my projects done. Life will slow down if my right foot is broken. I'll find out in the morning when I see the ortho doc. I dropped something heavy on the top of my foot last week. I think that I have a stress fracture. It's painful to walk and put weight on my right foot plus it is swollen a lot. It has turned red, blue, purple and black and is so sore to the touch. If it's not broken, it's a badly bruised bone. Whatever it is, it hurts a lot.

Thanks Marty for the update to Kathy. I do pray that her life settles down and she can find happiness and peace.
I dropped a full suitcase on my foot and had bruising, swelling and pain walking so I have been thru what you are going thru Marty. Hope it isn't broken. My doc thought my foot was broken and sent me for an xray and to an ortho. Luckily it wasn't, just badly bruised. Had to use heat/cold compresses and massage for several weeks. It still acts up every so often now. The best thing I did was get some sturdy athletic shoes that didn't flex very easily. Ortho said they were more comfortable than an ortho shoe and didn't get the rest of me out of balance while wearing it.

Hi Brockie, I have a hairline fracture just below the big toe and just below the third toe. I'm in a boot for the next 3 wks. It won't stop me from sewing but I have to have someone drive me. It's a good thing that hubby doesn't mind. I've had both of my feet broken as I have fragile bones and have had my right ankle broken. This is a minor setback.

Do hope your bones heal quickly Marty. DD has had a lot of issues with her feet, surgery laid her up nearly 9 months last year so I understand about all the problems you've had.
