Our pay is divided into 12 equal checks. We only get paid for the days we work, but it's in 12 monthly checks. Makes it nice in the summer time to get a paycheck. Is yours not that way too?

No I have to fill out 3 time sheets each pay period (2 weeks) 1 is for my 1 hr breakfast job, one is for the 4 hrs. they requisitioned me for lunch & the other is for whatever hrs. I have to work to finish my job as long as I call in & get it approved each day. We filed a greivance on this from the union since all additional hrs are supposed to be temporary. We started a new way of heating & serving lunch 3 years ago & we have been doing these additional hrs. since then. If they requisition me for them then they have to give me insurance & sick pay & holiday pay also. The district wouldn't even try to settle the greivance so it has gone to an arbitrator. It is supposed to be heard within the next few months. Hopefully I will get a big check for all the past ins. & snow/sick/holidays that I have been cheated out of an hr. each time.
During the summer I get no check. the only money I get is if I take on babysitting jobs.

My salary is based on a 180-day school year. Our checks are divided into 20 checks (twice monthly -15th and 30th) so we don't get anything over the summer either. And since we will get paid on the last day of school, whenever that may be, I guess I get paid for snow days???

My last pay is 2 weeks after school gets out & the first one of the new year will be4 weeks into school. since we fill out time sheets every 2 weeks & then get paid 2 weeks later. I just figured it out & since pay week falls the friday before we start I will get a check 2 weeks in for a meeting & 1 day of set up.
the worst checks of the year are usually January because we only get paid 2 days holiday for Christmas & 2 Days for New Year. This year luckily they fell on different pay weeks. Last year they fell together. We didn't have a full paycheck from before Christmas until the last check because there ws at least 1 unpaid day in each pay period in Jan & the first one of Feb. Spring break is completly unpaid. They are discussing trying to let us use some of our sick time over the long breaks if we have at least twice that accumulated. we get 1/2 day each pay period & I have over 30 days accumulated because it is such a pain to try to catch up if I take a day off. My asst. who will work if I am off doesn't do the paperwork or input anything into the computer. It takes me an hr. or more for each day I am off. If for some reason I had to be off long term they would send someone from downtown to do it but 1 or 2 days they don't unless I request it & I would rather they didn't mess with my stuff!
