Both our daughter in St.Louis and our daughter-in-law in Waterloo, ON are due the first week of July :) At present we have 3 DGSS in St.Louis, one in Waterloo. The Hanna Andersson Spring catalogue came today and oh the new Baby BoGo clothes are gorgeous :) Take care.

I actually sewed today, made a quilted knitting needle holder. And I pressed all my fabrics for the black and white/grey quilt I am finally going to start. I made up the blocks for a challenge quilt from our Guild. We got 6 18x12 pieces of fabric that we had to incorporate into a quilt and can only add in solids. I used black, turquoise and a bright yellow and made wonky squares. I have 18 of them which doesn't make an even number for a top and after putting them on the wall I am at a loss with what to do now. I think I will take some blocks with me to the store and see if I can come up with another solid to pull it all together. I like most of the fabrics, but two of them irritate me, so they really stick out.

Yeah...I finished quilting the wall hanging that was one of the projects on the cruise I took in Nov. Just have to cut and make binding then sew it on and it will be DONE. Hoping to do that either tonight or tomorrow. So may have pics shortly...(crossed fingers).

Here's my challenge quilt top. I think I'm happy with it. It's not at all like I pictured it to turn out, and I couldn't decide what to do with it all, so I just started sewing them together. Have to sandwich it yet, but don't want to use more black, as it shows everything! Also finished the blocks for the black/neutral quilt, and will sew them together later this week.

That is fantastic! Totally modern quilt...and love how the squares are not square or symetrical. I know what you mean about black showing everything...but this turned out great.

This is my version of Judy's black and white quilt. I think I may change the border, and do a narrow white, with a wide black. I'm still contemplating. I also finished a top for a baby quilt that I've been working on for a while, and since she just had the baby I figured I should get it together, the blocks were done, just put them together and bordered it, will post a pic once it's quilted.

Love your quilt, Laura. Had to take a second look since it looks soooo much like mine....LOL I like your idea for the borders too.

I know, I had to put the two side by side and compare. I have an extra row in mine, and I think I may change the borders to a darker one. But it sure is nice to put together. I think I may do this again with some other scraps I have.
