Finally, more progress on this top. I have 2 seams left to sew for the centre to be done. I divided the webbed top into three sections and sewed the seams across the sections. Made it easier to take to the machine and definitely easier to take to the ironing board to press all those seams. Yesterday I cut out 100 white triangles and sewed up approx. 30 into HSTs with the remaining wing units. When the 100 are done, I'll start on the border.

Here's the lastest pic...taken today at noon.

I had been planning on going out this afternoon to do some errands so didn't think I would get this done. But had a phone call from my niece & we talked so long that I just stayed in. So got the top completed. Now it's onto the borders.

Way back when you first posted about this I went and printed out the instructions myself. I even went and bought a Fons and Porter half and quarter but then didn't get much farther. Maybe I'll attack it with my scraps after the stash challenge.

Gina, I used the Easy Angle and Companion Angle rulers to make this top - I have been converted to using these rulers ;) . But whatever ruler you need to make the sizes specified would work.

But take my advice & make sure you sew an accurate 1/4" seam. That was why I tried this pattern. I wanted to see if I could improve my piecing by sewing that perfect 1/4" seam so that everything would go together correctly...without losing points and the various blocks would all be the correct size. It took me a few tries and I used a tool to know how to set up my machine to get the accurate 1/4" seam. It made a huge difference to sew this up.

Well this top is now all sewn together...and I'm still sane...LOL

I put a lime green inner border instead of a black one as was done in the original pattern. The colours I used made the centre dark so wanted something to brighten it up. Now I hope I don't lose my mojo to get this quilted. Preparing the backing and batting is next.
