What sewing projects are you working on?

Finished 2 little preemie gowns today and worked on some alterations for church members. At Serger Club on Wednesday, I learned that if one tightens the needle tensions almost as high as they will go, set the differential on 2 and the stitch length is 4, you will get lovely tight gathers. I made a ruffled tiered skirt for a special little person and it turned out great. Also, used my blind hem foot to create a casing for the elastic waist and to hem the skirt. It was a fun project. Will post pics later.

I made up 11 hats today for newborns/preemies.
Just returned home from visiting family out of state. My SIL has a serger that she used only once to play on scrap fabric and couldn't do anything with it. I had her haul it out and I sat down with it and showed her how to thread, adjust tensions etc with it. She and my DB are expecting their first great grandbaby in Aug and she wants to make as much as she can for it. I gave her lots of websites for free patterns and the Butterick pattern that has all that she would need to get started with. She was very excited about getting started.

The ruffled skirts sounds like fun :D

I have made another merino hoodie and T shirt for DGS.
Have pieced a Dr Suess quilt kit Let's Party over the past couple of days.
Road trip today with sewing friend picked up a quilting book step by step texture quilting got it already beside my chair to read tonight.
Picked up my block of the month so my fingers are twitching to cut and sew that together.
Knitting DGS a cabled beanie using a lovely 4 ply merino wool, my DIL has put an order in one in an electric blue so I will be occupied while DH watches the French open tennis.

Repaired bindings on 2 blankets; hemmed 2 dresses. made 8 pillows for homeless women and working on 10 more pillows plus have made 3 preemie gowns this month. Busy sewing time as I cannot stand being outdoors during this time of the year in the heat and humidity. Spent time this month teaching 2 different women to measure, fit and sew in addition to my regular sewing classes.

I made 8 tote bags over the weekend after I finished up 6 baby gowns on Friday.
I'm with you Marty, I can't stand being outside in the heat and humidity this time of year. Glad we've all been busy sewing this month.

I only know a basic knit stitch, Skye. Would love to see pics of your projects. When I finish these church projects tonight (hemming 2 dresses) I am going to spend most of next week finishing some clothes for me before working on preemie baby gowns for the hospitals.
