New Year, New Stash, New Challenge!

I used up roughly a quarter yard of fleece scraps making pom-pom toys for my darling Drooliette.

I have also cut probably 10 yards of fabric into 4 1/2 inch squares and strips for my Girl Scouts to use in their quilts. Technically it is out of my stash but I will wait to post the yardage when I see how many of the fabric is left in my posession when this project is over.

I make mine slightly bigger, and the channels are slightly wider. These are awesome rice packs.

Theresa, I really like those. Have you tried incorporating any lavender or other fragrent herb??

Belinda, I normally don't as I am allergic to so many things. I did at the request of someone buy some lavender to put into one. I had no idea how much to put in.

One day I did add some of my dried chammomile (for tea) to three small rice packs, and gave them to my daughter and her two friends (one who was having sleep issues), and called them sweet dreams pillow. My daughter says it still smells nice, but it smells like rice to me

Just finished the centre piece for next Christmas...The quilt is taking the longest...

I used up a little over two yards for two grocery bags. One was a Garfield print I've had for years and lined with a red solid that's over ten years old. No finished UFOs yet, but it's some sewing.
I have another dance dress to hem this week.

Well I can't cross anything off my list totally, but I did find a UFO quilt for my daughter that I am just hand sewing the binding on. I have also sewn together the cushion for my mum's birthday last year. When I have finished the quilt binding, I need to paint on both of them.

I did make myself a cute (cute, but not funky!) little black bag, which is just big enough to put my wallet in when I go out.

But I did learn one new thing, which will eventually make something funky for me. I bought some of the BubbleJet Set I have been reading about so I can make my own quilt labels with my printer. I still can't believe how easy it was to do and the labels are just gorgeous.

Well, finally did the cushion covers to go with my Asian Beauty Quilt - been meaning to do them for sooo long - but been in a sewing slump. Perhaps this will break my run of non sewingness.

Another large tote. I think this may be the last one that I have enough fabric to complete from stash. I have another piece that is large enough for the outside & handles, but I think I may have to buy lining material. Now I'm going to work on something for vacation. It's a Hawai'ian border print, so it will probably take a little playing with the patterns that I have to find one that works well & then get it laid out right. I'll be taking my time with this one.

I have made and embroidered two Kitchen hand towells from some nice all cotton birdseye towelling. I like the ease of this product. It is aroound 18 inches wide and the edges have a nice selvage. I hemmed the selvage edge by turning down once but i could have dleft it unhemed. I embroidered both towells. I practiced a technique on another 1/4 yard of fabric. I have wanted to make gift wrap by serging around the edge of fabric over fishing line. I wrapped my DGD's b'day gift in it. Maybe I will get out of the slump I'm in.
