I think part of it was I remember that my boss for years, (a British Bride married to a Military Man) always borrowed a fold up tote I had when she went back for a visit. She always took sewing thread with her for her family. She brought back clothing made there because it fit her better. She was short like me, but her 'girls' were larger than mine by far. The clothing she brought back always fitted her perfectly. Her DH worked for AE Threads. He was a VP and he got me hooked on their thread. (serger and regular sewing)

I have a new thing to learn! After being ribbed at work unmercifully this last two weeks because of my horrible handwriting, I am going to try to write legibly. (I would have made a great doctor with my scribble!!)

Hmm Laura, bear in mind it takes kids a LONG time - you first step would be to make sure you have a good pen and are sitting correctly - makes a huge difference.

Hmmm I sense there are some teachers out there! And to boot, I'm a lefty, and I slant my paper completely opposite to righties but I don't write with my hand crooked around. I'm working on my printing too. Did I mention my sister was an elementary teacher and her handwriting is the large cursive style taught in schools years ago, it's beautiful.

Latest attempts :
Here are the next three patterns in my quest to master FMQ
Image

So in close up : Rattlesnake. Leah says this is useful to cover large areas. I found working in a figure of 8 quite tricky but the overall effect is almost aboriginal. Not really suited to the quilt I am working on but interesting.
Image

She calls this on e Edge of Reason. Although I wrote myself a note to make the first wiggly line even more wiggly, it didn't happens and my echo quilting is a bit ropey.
Image

Wormholes. Now this I really like, fun to do and looks good from afar - close up not so amazing but it is very forgiving. Definitely on the list!
Image

So my favourites are pebbles/cracked egg, wormholes, spiral circle and flame flower. Now to hit the quilt!

Those are unbelivable. I can't even imagine how you accomplished those patterns and they look very time consumeing.

Those are so cool, Jan. I like them all. Must be fun to work on those.
