I do have a business selling things I sew. I have a store on ebay. I figure I make $25.00 and hour. I don't think this is to much to charge. What do you pay a mechanic, doctor, repair person, etc.....? I feel my talent is just a valuable as theirs. Not many people can sew, so they can pay me to sew for them. I sell valances, tablerunners, throwpillow covers, pillowcases, barstool covers and many other items. The the things I make can be purchased at a store cheaper than I charge, but the prints I use can't be found in a store. So what I make is unique. This past week I made valances for a lady in florida that was made with fabric that had colorful flips. Tonight I am make a valance with black and white fabric that is a cow print. They needed a special size for a small window. Neither of these valances can be purchased in a store. I help people make their homes special to them, by making custom items in prints that is in a theme to compliment their homes. When someone asks me to sew for them I tell them I charge $25. and hour and they always decide they really didn't need me to sew for them. Ebay keeps me so busy that I can't even get anything sewn for myself.
