DS Xmas Jeans quilt

New postby Skye on Tue Dec 25, 2012 5:21 pm

DS(29ys) bought me 5 pairs of his old jeans 'cause I had said that I would like to make a jeans quilt one day - perfect for his Xmas present :D

I am pleased with how it turned out and I am very happy that he loves it 8-)

Wow, great job. What did you use for a backing? What size is it?
So wish I liked to quilt. It isn't the making of the blocks or even putting them together it is the batting and the backing and the actual quilting that gets me so frustrated.

Thanks for the kind comments.

It is about 1.8m square, and very heavy!
No batting, I used a red polar fleece with white paw prints on it. Stitched in the ditch, FM around shapes and did a jeans style bar tack in the middle of the plain blocks.

Fun project.

Off to quilt a baby cot panel we have gone from 30 degrees C on Xmas fday to 14 and rain today so perfect to work in the sewing cave 8-)
