Antique lace and crochet work

I recently received a treasure of my great grandmothers hand made doilies, lace runners and table scarves, lace collars and lace bordered items. I would like to incorporate them into a queen sized quilt to commemorate this lost art and save it for future generations. Any suggestions on how to attach these delicate articles to squares that I can then link together to form the quilt?

Hi BJ, I would either stitch them around the edges using a whip stitch by hand or very carefully machine stitch them with a tiny zigzag stitch. I would use tacking stitches for the interiors. I do heirloom sewing and lace work at times and this is what I have done with some of my family pieces when incorporating them into garments. I would put a topping of silk organza on the top of the quilt if it is going to be used on a bed to protect your antiques pieces. Hope that this helps.
