Saw this on the news last night. It's gorgeous! It fits so beautifully. I love that the girls are doing their own hair and nails too.

That seems weird ... but then in Memphis, every year one of the high schools has a duct tape ball where the prom outfits are all made out of duct tape. Too goofy for me. My daughter made a duct tape outfit & had an oops moment when it wouldn't stay up.

Now Marty, surely you know that duct tape can hold anything....lol.

We tried once when a long time ago when one of the girls saw it on the news or something. We made a skirt but since we didn't know what we were doing, it didn't work out (that was before we had a computer/internet). The Art Guild at the hight school does art camp twice a year and the kids make crafts with younger kids, almost always duct tape wallets, etc so they ask for donations of duct tape. Now they have all kinds of colors and prints so kids are using it to decorate their "stuff".

We might do a duct tape backpack next year...maybe it will last all year and be cheaper than store bought ones that last til about Christmas and then they need a new one!

That is cool. 8-) It looks like chainmail to me. I like seeing young people have such unique ideas.

I remember a loooong time ago ( probably on S W N website) someone posted a link to a contest for prom outfits made from duct tape. It was a national contest, and I looked at a lot of entries, but I do not remember what the prize was for winning the contest. There were dresses and tuxes entered in the contest. That is all I remember. But that Pop top dress is marvelous. It was a perfect fit on her and I think she is to be applauded for perseverance for finishing it on time for the prom. And wearing it of course. I think the colorful spots were great! !

Totally ingenious! And the fit was amazing! Who knows, she may be the world's next huge designer. Loved it.

Yeah, the fit so totally impressed me. When there was a brief glimpse inside it occurred to me that she might have stitched them all onto an existing dress. That's all I could come up with. What do you all think?

That may be it. I did notice that it was sewn onto a base of some sort and I can't see making the dress with all the poptops on it all ready, they'd have to be put on later, wonder if she handstitched a lot of it, how in the world would you machine stitch that without busting 3200 needles?

What ever she did, she did it well. I'm sure she will stand out at the prom.
