Wedding Dress

New postby MartySews2 on Sun Sep 06, 2015 5:17 pm

My cousin became engaged last year and today was her wedding day. When she became engaged, she told me of the difficulty in finding a wedding dress to fit her plus size body. There are health issues too. After we talked about wedding gowns, costs, and styles, Nina sent me a photo of her dream gown. Using the photo, with the help of a sewing buddy, I designed a gown and created a pattern for her. Nina wanted elbow length sleeves and no train. She found a seamstress thru a bridal shop and had the gown made up from the pattern I created. The seamstress told her that it would cost too much to add the pockets Nina wanted even though I had drafted a pattern for the pockets to go into the skirt of the dress. Here she is starting to walk down the aisle with her, my Uncle Roy. I am so happy that I was able to do this for her as I have not seen her in about 20 years. Her wedding was everything that she wished it would be today.
