Hey Laura :)
I know this post is old but I have to comment. I've been scrap booking for years now. And let me tell ya I don't believe in any rules on how to do this. It's funny. You go to these scrap book parties and people try to tell you the CORRECT way to sb and I have to laugh! This is an art not a rule of thumb project. You can scrap book anyway your heart desires! ;) I've done books with tons of embellishments and some that are just a plain jane. Just depends on my mood. Sometimes I journal in them sometimes I don't. Some people say to not use bumpy accent embelllishments because they ruin the pages, well let me tell ya I have sb's that have been around for years that have A LOT of those kind of pages and the book pages are still in pristine condition, so there ya go ;) Have FUN and make them any way your heart desires.
Blessings,
Dee

Oh ya I almost forgot to add. The supplies you can find just about anywhere. I get them from all over like Joann's with my coupons, Target, 99 Cent stores etc. Not sure if you have those in Canada. Plus sometimes I print stuff out on my printer to use. Plus once you start to collect stuff for the projects before you know it you have tons of supplies for your pages. Plus scrapbook.com has tons of savings and Ebay. Just gotta look.

Dee, now you are making me feel guilty(kidding). I have had the boxes of pictures in my dining room for a long time now, and both books are 1/3 - 1/2 done, I keep procrastinating on it, as it's not really something I am loving doing. But I do need to get them done for Christmas, so now I have a deadline. I'm getting tired of tripping over the boxes and moving them around, someone kick my butt so I can get motivated!

I know, I'll box it all up and bus it to your house and YOU can do them!!!!

AHAHAHAHAHA your too much!!!!! Hey don't even feel the guilt. Scrap booking isn't for everyone. It even takes me sometimes months to finish an album and I love doing it, so there ya go. Makes me think. I started a crochet project. It was supposed to be a medium sized blanket that turned into a DBL King sized project ( didn't know what the heck i was doin ) LOL then I ended up giving it to a friend to finish, or just take apart AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Scrapbook Project 2012 is well underway at my office. I am using the back/storage room for sewing/quilting/scrapping when time allows. This time of year is very slow, so I am finding great chunks of time for all my creative interests. The project will see 25+ albums be rescrapped into large 3 ring binders. I am using stash, only have had to buy page protectors. I am not spending a lot of time on page design as I do for more recent grandchildren pages, rather using my thermal printer to journal the pages. The project starts with Rob and I dating in 1973 through to 2003 when our first DGS was born. Brandy made Rob a lovely book for his 50th, my sweet SIL made one for my 50th, a history of our cottage on Koney Island in Alberta, a history of Rob's family, so many pictures have already been scrapped. These beautiful books will stay as they were made. My estranged brothers and I were adopted. There are few photos of our adoptive families but they have been scrapped in a separate album. It has been a very emotional journey thus far as our family journey includes the loss of our eldest son, Kevy. Many lovely photos though of our kids that have had us laughing looking photos of all 3 kids covered in Nivea cream along with the faces of their stuffed toys ;) Despite the sadness, Rob and I have been blessed with much in our marriage. Enjoy a great day, hug someone you love ;) Take care.

Wahoo  I am up to 1990 when my Dad took our daughter Brandy and myself to England/Scotland in August. England was a treat, Scotland held three world class highland dance competitions for Brandy. Glasgow was the City of European Culture with lots of activity. Using Google to complete missing details, I saw that our London hotel, The Reubens, is alive and well as is McLays in Glasgow. Long story short, I want to take Rob to England/Scotland, especially the Isle of Skye where many of his 'clan' are buried. Ah, memory lane ;)
