I hear you on that one, I try to stay away from stripes, plaids, and other fabric that have a definite straight design to them, if it's off, nothing works! Border fabric runs the length of the grain, and I've done skirts and tops across the grain. And so many of the beautiful sari fabrics run like that, with all the beading and embroidery work on one side. So pretty.
