This is what i want to make

New postby temom on Fri May 10, 2013 3:24 pm

This is the type of strip quilt I want to make. It calls for 37 strips of colored strips, and 37 strips of neutral strips. I have 48 colored strips, which leaves me with almost enough for the binding. I will either use some of the neutral strips into the binding, or supplement it with something else.
Anyway, I am going to put this together as a quilt as you go.

Cute quilt but IMHO, quilt as you go might be a challenge with 21/2" strips if you are doing it where a strip goes in the middle over the batting and backing, join to another right sides tog, then flip and sew another in the same method.....

Nice quilt - I have a quilting friend who has made several baby quilts using strips and quilt as you go. Nice quick easy projects providing ypour batting isn't too lofty.

Piney, I think you might be right. I may sew 2 strips together, so I will be working with a 4 inch strip.
Everything is delayed, as I found that the sheet I bought for the backing is a cotton/poly blend, and I need it to be 100% cotton. I guess I will run to the fabric store.

And a quilt from a jelly roll race: https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/imag ... ol8J96Yvpg
( I just googled and picked an image)
