A Sewing Event

On Saturday, my ASG chapter sponsored Londa Rohlfing of Londa's Creative Sewing. She is a national sewing educator who has recently moved into our area. Her specialty is knits whether it is making tops from acetate rayon knit or converting sweatshirts to jackets and tops. It was a delightful day and I ended up buying her DVD and a pattern for tops with interesting necklines. I thought that her DVD was expensive at $28 but was delighted to find it was actually 3 DVDs (over an hour long each) of what she taught in the class. Now, if I forget something, I can just put on the DVD and find the info. It was a great day for sewing. If there are educators in your area, I would advise you to take some classes even if you have been sewing for over 50 years like I have been. You find out about these thru the Babylock.com website and click on the link for Events or go to the website http://www.sewingevents.com, http://www.sewingexpo.com, http://www.janome.com/learn, and http://www.brother-usa.com/HomeSewing/T ... endar.aspx are just some of the websites with events. It's really fun to take classes and of course, the American Sewing Guild has classes too. This summer, they will be in Orlando, FL for their annual convention. Have fun with it.
