I have never learned the fine art of staying out of mischief I will look at the last couple of weeks in May, and would love to come. For the first visit, should I just come and observe? Are you teaching in a certain sequence in your classes? Do you charge a fee for your expertise or prefer a donation? I have waay too many questions... If it is easier to call me rather than type an answer, I'll send you my phone number (I think I saw something about a Private Message somewhere).

Finished typing for the day, and am getting ready to sew for the evening--Yahoo!

No fee or specific structure for my classes ... I just ask for donations to my church as one is able. A person decides what they want to learn and I help them achieve their goals. A lot of my class is fellowship and answering questions. If I don't know the answer, I'll get back to you after I research the topic. No hard fast sewing rules ... just design opportunities and there is no specific right or wrong way to do something. Whatever works for you is the best way.

Ladies, I finished the birthday outfit for my guy's granddaughter, and I am pleased with it. Not perfect, but not bad. I redid the lettuce edge on the serger with the knife engaged, but it really did not make much of a difference. Will practice the lettuce edge on my sewing machine with a small zigzag stitch. I wonder if having a turned under edge will give a cleaner finish???

On to my next project which is a t-shirt for a 2-year-old niece this time. Have a cute little purple and white print cotton knit, and want to do a solid purple neckband. After that, I want to try a shirt with a peplum.

Cheryl, a tip for doing a lettuce edge without pokies is to wrap a water soluble stabilizer around the hem as you stitch and stretch for the lettuce effect. Your edges will be much cleaner.

Yesterday, I cut out a 2nd table runner with 4-1/2 inch squares at our ASG meeting. Just need to sew the blocks together, add batting and backing. Then it will be ready to hand quilt. I probably will keep the 2nd one as it is in colors that I like.

Marty, great minds run together.. LOL I was going to suggest the water soluble clear stabilizer for Cheryl, but you beat me to it.. LOL. I have been off the computer for 4 days.. Seems a ligfetime, but DS was searching for a vehicle and used it every day all day and into evening while he was off work. Then yesterday, I got comandeered on an impromptu trip for a vehicle . Came to be a wasted effort, anyway. But another day used up without computer . I may not be on here long daily but I sure do miss it when I don't get on at all.

Pokies--LOL! That's what they are! Thanks for the tip about the water soluble stabilizer--I'll give it a try on the next t-shirt for my niece. I have some stabilizer in my drawer, but didn't even think about using it. Y'all are so good!
