Changing needles

Just watched several videos on cleaning machines that had a lot of good info. One was when to change the needle. I can never keep up with the number of hours I've use a needle but I sure know how many bobbins I've used with it. This video recommended changing needles every 3-5 bobbins.

I change needles after every large project or 5 small ones. In machine embroidery, I change needles after 50K stitches. On my sergers, I change needles after each project. It's easier to change needles than to pay for a machine repair.
